[Steve hopes not. They're his men and he trusts them. They were there when Bucky died. They were there for everything.]

[ He wouldn't be on Steve's team if he weren't a good fighter, and he is, knows when to move and when to not, and he's fast. Which is how he manages to shimmy free, straddles Steve's lap, face didn't toward him, his hands on the headboard of the bed.

And Bucky should be weirded out by this. But he isn't. ] I don't care. I'd fight every damn thing on the planet for this.

[Steve should be weirded out by it, too. But instead he looks up, his blue eyes wide and bottomless, trusting. He tips his head up to look Bucky in the eye. He feels flushed, hot, like he's in love.]

[His hands move to Bucky's waist and they spread there, wide, before he moves in to kiss him on the mouth]

[ Bucky's only answer is to wrap his hand in the softness of Steve's hair and lean down, kiss him back properly, like he's been dying to do since day one and hasn't really found the courage to. This is Bucky's move, the press of his lips to Steve and the burn behind it, years of aching for this buzzing away under his skin.

When he breaks away he looks younger, like he did when he left Steve behind, something amused and still boyish about it. ] Gotta hand it to the Scottish chick, her advice was the best.

[Steve's breathing is speeding up in a way that's reminscent of his asthma attacks, but he doesn't have those anymore. He can run for miles and not so much as need a break, but this, this leaves him gasping.]

She suggested you do that? Because if she did you have to listen to her more.

Well, she told me I should push you into a wall and kiss some sense into you, but I reckon I can save that for another time, huh?

[Steve flips them, then, suddenly, so he's on top, and gives him a kiss. There is a lot of authority in that kiss]

[ He makes a startled noise in the back of his throat, kisses back just as hard, but there's a level of pliancy even in this, because Bucky trusts Steve with his life. ] So was that an agreement with the idea or what?

Yeah. It was.

[He isn't quite sure where to go from here but he's smiling and comfortable and happy.]

[ Bucky's unlikely to push where he knows Steve's not sure of, but that doesn't stop him from stroking a hand up his back, tugging a little on his shirt, grin wild. ] Think y'wanna keep me company today?€

I think that sounds like something I would really like.

[He turns to get off Bucky, though. He is grabbing Bucky's hand and holding on.]

[ Steve's hands have been different since the serum, and much from any dame Bucky's ever done this with, so he spends a minute or two stretching out his fingertips against Steve's in comparison, touch a little rought, but they've both fought wars. ]

[His hand tightens; he doesn't ever want to let go, as if he could keep Bucky living just by holding his hand here, as if it will translate to back home]

[ It's obvious what he means, the unspoken thing he has for Steve, realised now propped up in bed together. ] But everythin' was so up in the air, and I didn't think I could face goin' to war if you'd hated me. I always felt better knowin' I had somethin' to fight for.

I kinda - I don't know. You always felt like family t'me. I guess I jus' never thought you'd feel the same way, so I didn't examine it. I just kept it.
