[ Bucky falls absolutely silent at that, staring somewhere past the couch he's on. He knows what happens to Steve, knows there's nothing he can do, but a part of him wants him to make Howard promise to protect him. ]

[ Clambering up off the floor, Howard grabs another beer and flops onto the couch with the dog. ] Y'okay there, pal? Don't think I've ever heard you this quiet before.

[ Bucky just shakes his head, fingers twisting in the fabric of his shirt. Crepe seems to acknowledge the mood change, crawls over to nose at his ankle. ] M'fine, never better.

Yeah, sure, buddy, and y'look it too. [ Draining half of the beer, the effects slowly taking hold. ] Y'catch any bad guys lately?

There ain't much to do with the lack of my own company to build up and orders to fill. Tempted to go suck up to that Tony guy, get more work.

[ He finishes the can of beer, throws it towards the small bin and misses, sheepishly picking it up with his feet to drop in. ]

Speaking of, I should probably be getting back.

[ He pauses at the offer, doing well not to show how surprised he is by it, and pushes himself up. ]

I'll bear that in mind, Bucky Boy, and I should check in on Cap more, see how he's fairing.

Tell him I'll be stopping by sometime, huh? [ He pets Crepe's head when she jumps down, follows him to the door, and then steps out, the door open a crack before closing for him to flash a grin and wink. ] See you soon, honey.
